Ways to Support iLEAP
Supporting iLEAP
There are a number of ways you can be a part of our work:
Monetary Donations
iLEAP is a small, growing organization and moving forward with 3 major
programs. Nearly all the funds that we receive go directly towards implementing programs. These funds
are for plane tickets for Fellows coming from overseas, bus passes while they
are here and other expenses we cannot cover with in-kind donations. We
keep our expenses at an absolute minimum. So you can be assured that your
monetary donations are having maximum impact.
You can donate funds for iLEAP programs in three ways.
- Checks should be made out to iLEAP and sent to: P.O. Box 15405, Seattle, WA 98115.
- Credit Card donations can be made online by following this link: http://donatetoileap.notlong.com
- Bank Transfers can be made to our account. Please contact iLEAP's Executive Director, Britt Yamamoto ( britt@ileap.org) for bank account information.
Run for a Scholarship
One fun way to donate would be to make a pledge to one of our staff who are
running in the Seattle Marathon to raise funds for scholarships. Even
better, you could join us in our "Run for a Scholarship". If
you would like to support our "Run for a Scholarship" please contact
iLEAP President J.B. Hoover (jb@ileap.org).
In Kind Donations
Frequent Flyer Miles: iLEAP's programs involve a bringing Fellows to Seattle from Asia and Africa.
Your donation of FF miles will allow these grassroots community leaders to
participate in the our iPC3 training program. Please contact iLEAP
Program Coordinator Kierstyn Hunter ( kierstyn@ileap.org).
Home Stay Host: The community leaders coming to Seattle, are carefully screened and selected.
They are exceptional women and men, dedicated to improving the lives of the marginalized
groups they serve. iLEAP is looking for home stay hosts for the 10 week
duration of the Fellowship program (April through mid-June).
Material Goods
iLEAP students' training, and work in their home community, will be greatly
enhanced by having certain material goods. For each Fellow iLEAP works to provide a laptop computer, legal software for the computer, a digital
camera, a bicycle, and a presentation projector. Donations of any such
items are most welcome.
Volunteer
As an all volunteer organization iLEAP's staff and volunteers take on all the jobs that most organizations pay for. These include website administration, database management, writing grant proposals, arranging internships...and the list goes on. For our various events, iLEAP always can use volunteers for distributing posters and fliers, setting up the venue, collecting pledge cards during the event, cleaning up afterwards and following up on donations. If you have such skills, and would like to share them working with others for a common vision, please contact Executive Director Britt Yamamoto ( britt@ileap.org).
